Court Pulse (“we,” “us,” or “our”) helps pickleball players see where courts are active before they drive. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. By using Court Pulse, you agree to this policy.
We collect only what we need to run the service:
We use your information to:
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we process your data under the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the app you signed up for), legitimate interests (to keep court data accurate, secure the service, and prevent abuse), consent (for device location access, which you can revoke at any time), and legal obligation (where the law requires it).
Location access is optionaland only used when you grant your device’s permission. We use it in two ways:
When a check-in is location-verified, your precise coordinates are stored privately in a separate record that only you and our administrators can access — they are never shown to other users. Publicly, a check-in shows only that it was verified (a yes/no flag), never where you are. These coordinates are deleted automatically when the check-in expires from the database, and with your account if you delete it.
Your live location is never shown publicly, and check-ins and heading-there signals are anonymous — no names are shown publicly. You can turn off location-verified check-ins at any time in Account & Privacy, or revoke location access entirely in your device or browser settings; you can still check in manually, but those check-ins won’t be location-verified.
We use cookies only for authentication — to keep you signed in and to secure your session. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not run any third-party analytics or tracking. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
To understand which features work, we record basic product events (for example: “a session was created”, “a session link was viewed”, “an RSVP was submitted”) in our own database — no third-party analytics vendors ever receive this data. These records never contain names, emails, message content, or precise location; where a referring site is recorded, only its hostname is kept. Analytics records are not used for advertising. If you RSVP to sessions, we also send you transactional messages about them (reminders, time changes, cancellations); you can turn session reminders off in Account & Privacy.
You can RSVP to a session without an account using your phone number. We use your number only to verify your RSVP with a one-time text code and to send you critical changes about that session (a cancellation or time change) — nothing else.
Your number is stored separately with restricted access: the session host can see your name and that you verified, and your number is used for verification codes and critical updates about that session only. Guest information is never used for marketing.
You can choose “Remove my RSVP and phone number”on the session page at any time — after a quick text code confirms it’s you, both are deleted immediately.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with service providers that operate the app on our behalf:
These providers are bound to process data only as needed to provide their services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the public. Publicly visible court activity is aggregated and anonymized.
Court Pulse and its providers may process and store data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers of personal data.
Live signals (check-ins, updates, heading-there) expire automatically and are removed from public view. We keep your account information while your account is active, and delete it after a deletion request as described below. We may retain limited information longer where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, export (data portability), and delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
To exercise any right, email support@pickleballpulse.app. We will respond within the timeframes required by law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to or deletion of your information, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We collect the categories described in “Information We Collect” above (identifiers, internet activity, and geolocation) to provide and secure the service.
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To submit a request, email support@pickleballpulse.app. We will verify your request using your account email before acting on it.
You can request account deletion at any time from Account & Privacy. Deletion follows a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel; after that, your account and personal information are permanently removed. Public court and verified facility data are not deleted, and anonymous aggregate signals may be retained.
Court Pulse is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and row-level security on all user data, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to address vulnerabilities promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will provide additional notice in the app.
